Zeb at the Ranch – Cow Pies and Coffee Cups

This "Cowpies and Coffee Cups" is late getting to you...I'm sorry. I lost one of my best friends a few days ago and my drive and desire to get things done...has diminished. This friend was always glad to see me, always gave me a warm greeting and always was there when I needed him. This friend was dependable, kind, energetic, and ready always to do my bidding. This "friend" as you may have guessed now was my #1 of all time...horse. His value was far more than money...although he was valued in the high 5 figure digits. His value was his ability to serve me...we roped literally 1000's of steers in the last twelve years. He always did his job and the Buckles and money we won are now my only remembrance. He was so kind and trusting but yet, had a "motor" that could put you on the ground! He "knew" who was on his back and acted accordingly. My wife, Deanne has some severe balance issues and horseback riding is a great stimulus to recoup core balance. My ole' friend knew she had problems and acted as the perfect gentleman to make sure Deanne was O.K. We traveled every state in the West to ropings and rodeos and he always gave me 100%.......now as I look at my trailer, my empty trailer, the memories flood over me and this blog is tear stained. We buried him in my arena and now forever he'll be where he loved to be.... Good Bye and God Bless You "Stinger" - you were a gift from God.
