Just as I started writing this "Cowpies", the song "I'll be Home for Christmas" was being played on the radio. Oh my...what wonderful and yet "sweet and sour" memories. My Christmas' in Wisconsin were "Christmas Card Perfect".., decorations, lots of lights, family gatherings, lots of food and above all..The Celebration of Jesus' birth. I'll never forget going to the Christmas Eve service at our church. You could depend on lots of snow and very cold, but once inside the church, the warmth and love everyone shared was amazing. We sang ALL the great Christmas songs and Mr. Don Hartwig and his choir really put an extra charge into the lyrics. Pastor Hoenecke's sermon WAS honestly spellbinding and to THIS day I remember his voice and his powerful words. After the service, we gathered for hot chocolate and cookies and then all too soon, the Congregation thinned out and headed home for Christmas with their families. I don't know WHO was in charge of turning off all the lights and locking the doors but it must have been very sad, standing in the quiet darkness of the church for that portion of Christmas to be over. Savor, really savor every single tidbit of Christmas – those memories will warm your heart for the rest of your life.

GOD BLESS and MERRY CHRISTMAS!
