Idaho...the beauty and splendor of God's design and supreme handiwork. The awesome Sawtooth Mountain range with peaks of snow cutting into the blue sky. The Magic Valley...Magic is very appropriate for one the most fertile and prosperous agricultural areas in the entire world. Potatoes, sugar beets, corn, alfalfa, beans, wheat, barley, huge dairy industry and beef cow-calf operations...the list goes on. Some of the best colleges and universities and worldwide known business entities live and thrive in Idaho...HOWEVER..yes there is a "however", we've allowed our state to become one of the worst for picking up after ourselves...there is trash everywhere, strewn by careless lazy people that just don't care! I hauled a horse up to Nampa yesterday and my wife and I were amazed and embarrassed with the trash on the sides of the roads and in the medians. Mattresses, buckets, lumber, hats, shoes, plastic bags, and yes, baby diapers to beer cans! What's the matter with you people?? Just open the window and let er' fly? Or...just leave it in the back of your pickup and 60mph should clean it out?? I remember one time when I was 12 years old and riding with my Dad, I let a napkin blow out the window, Dad slammed on the brakes, backed up and yelled at me to get the paper and don't let that happen again!! I did not! Are we that lazy and uncaring that our State has to be turned into an open pit dump? Come on...we're better than "this" - Hold on to your trash till you get home and keep Idaho The Gem State that it is!
