"If you're going to stand out – you should be outstanding!" I just read that quote yesterday and its one that I'll never forget. Those 10 words really highlight what you are and what you should be – all of us using the talents and abilities God gave us. I'm 75 years old, most of my life is in the rearview mirror, BUT, I still have many Goals, Hopes, and Wants to accomplish before my "last ride". I need to finish my book...is it a Hemmingway or a Louis L'Amour? No...it's me, my event filled life and all the people I've met and accomplishments that I'm very proud of. I want to win a saddle teamroping, I've won plenty of buckles but a saddle win has eluded me. Do I want to use the saddle? No...I want to give it to my son to remember me. However, the most important goal is to increase my knowledge of the Bible and my application of its Word in my everyday life. To date...I've failed miserably, but I must keep trying. I still, EVERDAY do some of the dumbest and sinful things and I can hear my Grandma saying "AY YAY YAY, what's the matter with you!!" Good question Grandma...sometimes I just run off the rails...we ALL do. Keep trying, Keep setting goals, Keep visiting with God about your problems, wants and needs,...And above all, Don't quit! Don't you ever give up.
