In January, I had a tough decision to make. My ropin' horse "Stinger" was going blind with Uveitis, basically damage to the pigmented vascular layers of the eye. Goober and I met with two very good vets here in Magic Valley, conferred with an eye specialist at Colorado State University, and then, sought out the opinion of an equine ophthalmologist that visits the Idaho Equine Center in Nampa once a month. The final diagnosis was grim. The doctor turned to me and said it was the worst deterioration of the eyes she'd ever seen...that was a gut punch. So...what to do? The ophthalmologist explained that there is a surgical procedure to literally "peel off" the bad scar tissue and with lengthy medication treatments, stop more incurrence of the disease...OKAY...but what are the chances of sight to possibly using him again to rope?...not real good... "Stinger' is in excellent condition and honestly looks half his age of 25 and...he's kind of the "special" pet of the family...but what is this going to cost?...THOUSANDS!! Whew! The vets left us to "chew over" all the facts and "what ifs" and it was Goober who spoke first, "schedule the surgery, he's to good a horse to suffer with the pain and..die!"...THIS story is about a horse, however, it relates to so many people in the world that are left to suffer and die. SO many babies killed by abortion and the "doctors" that do these procedures, I hope they rot in hell. So many elderly that try to live at home or are locked in nursing homes to wither and die and be forgotten about. I just pray that WE could have the compassion, care and love for all living beings...not just my horse "Stinger". Oh...by the way...he's doing great with blessings from the Lord and ropin' season is just around the corner!!

God Bless
