Decorating for Christmas CAN be painful physically and end up in divorce court!!...Jingle Bells, jingle bells...jingle all the way! Over the last few years, (knees gone-balance terrible) Deanne and I have had help getting all the boxes of ornaments, lights, many Santa Claus, snowmen, reindeer that "sing", nativity scenes and an 8-foot tree and a mini-tree for my office...WHEW! This year we had nobody to help...so we had the not smart idea to do it ourselves. We pondered the best way to get everything out of the attic and then – down the 16 stairs...my idea was NOT a good one. Some of the boxes weighed over 60# (no kidding!) and were the size of a suitcase squared and our tree, in 3 parts, was easily a bulky not easy to handle 100#... a big dude. Okay, my thought was if Goober started the boxes to "slide" down the stairs, I, being halfway up the stairs, could stop them and ease them to the bottom...nope. Dear reader, I did not plan for the physics of velocity and speed...one (me!) did not consider how DARN fast these objects were hurtling at me, and with a girlie scream I tried to protect myself from the onslaught of Christmas!...it was a mess. First of all, I should remark that I was not injured severely, cuts, abrasions and sprained wrist, but the carnage at the bottom of the stairs was unimaginable. The 3 Wise Men looked like they'd been in an accident on I-84, one of the snowmen literally was hugging a reindeer by the neck, but yet, at the top of the rubble, there was Baby Jesus still smiling in his manger, I could have sworn I heard him say...WEEEEEE!!!! After a brief survey of the chaos, my bride and I went to the cupboard and broke out some homemade brandy, sat down and said "A Merry Christmas to all and to All a Good Night"!!!

God Bless
