Grandma used to say "You have to take the good with the bad" - that goes with people too. In my line of work, it's very difficult to read and study news events every day that are jaded with evil and greedy people, there are a lot of them and they're in our face. I'll be the first to admit that I have an "animosity switch" that operates on a hair trigger against these folks. But then, along comes some really good, caring folks that literally "make your day". A few days ago, Deanne and I were at a fast-food parking lot eating a sandwich, when a man walked up and asked if I was Zeb Bell? My first inclination was to be wary, but he said "I've always wanted to meet you and tell you how much I appreciate what you do", we shook hands and he walked away. That encounter made me feel really good for the rest of the day. Another instance took place at a roping in Nampa, former World Champion Team Roper Doyle Gellerman rode up to me and said "throughout my career I really enjoyed your rodeo announcing", WOW, what a nice thing to say from a man that's been everywhere and "heard 'em all". Then recently, I had a telephone call from a man of a different faith and church from mine, and he asked if his youth group could come by and help Deanne and I with some yard care. WOW again! Since last August when Deanne was deathly ill, we've kind of been "lax" on doing all the "fine tuning" of our yard – just the basics. The Youth Group consisted of 30 people with mowers, shovels, trimmers, and weed eaters...it was an amazing attack on what shouldn't be growing...they were tremendous! After the work was finished, they gathered around my deck, and sang some old great Christian hymns, it was so heartwarming, with my smile there were also tears! Take the good, with the bad? Lately I've witnessed so much good...I've been blessed!

God Bless
