A 13-year-old boy is shot to death by Chicago police...this headline is chilling and another negative for police...but is it? This story has so many extenuating circumstances, let's not rush to judgement against the police. It was 2:30 AM, and this 13-year-old is seen on video walking down the street with a 21-year-old man. A few moments later, shots were fired and, on another video, the pair can be seen running away with the 13-year-old carrying a pistol. The police were quick to the scene and with the officer's body-cam, we can watch the chase after the 13-year-old. The officer screamed for the boy to stop and raise his hands, and when he did, he dropped the weapon behind him. Now hold on, the boy's quick movement of dropping the gun and his arm coming forward...what would you do? I've seen the video many times and I do not blame the officer for a split second "save yourself" attitude when he fired. A sincere tragedy...yes...but who's to blame?? What in any form of sanity is a 13-year-old boy doing on the crime ridden streets of Chicago at 2:30 in the morning? Where are his parents? Why isn't he home in bed? Why is he with a 21-year-old? Why, when shots were fired initially, did both of them start running? The gun that was found had been fired several times, WHO fired it? Why today is our society so quick to condemn and damn the police? And, of course the media was galloping to say "the Chicago Police Department has a long history of brutality and racism"...disgusting. On the tape after the shooting, weeping and sobbing can be heard from the officer...he was and is devasted. I'm just going to say this ONCE – parental guidance and a firm loving and caring home life COULD have and should have prevented this tragic story. Don't feed me the garbage of "Kids will be Kids" and "We can't watch 'em all the time", that's simply B.S.!! 13, 2:30 AM, with a 21-year-old man, running from a shooting, carrying a pistol??!!...everyone is a loser, not just the teen or the policeman...our society is guilty!

God Bless
