Back in March, Deanne and I bought a Corgi puppy and named him "Festus". It was a very difficult time because we'd lost our #1 travel partner "Ruby" in February. I'm not at all ashamed to admit, the gaping hole in our hearts was NOT healing after we put Ruby to eternal sleep, and we were NOT ready for another dog. Every time we went to town, we'd glance in the backseat to see if Ruby was there, or if we passed McDonald's we'd expect a bark for us to stop and get her a dish of ice cream, but those days were gone. Deanne and I were pretty lonesome in the living room that once was Ruby's castle and she was in control. Then, while shopping in Twin Falls, we ran into a couple that were carrying the cutest lil' Corgi pup and I boldly asked them if they could tell me where they got this bright-eyed canine. As God willed it, the owner had 4 pups left, we made arrangements to see them and behold...Festus came into our lives. At this writing, "Festus" is 5 months old, housebroke (most of the time) and full of a dynamic, bursting at the seams personality, He looks like he's always smiling and optimistic and ready for good times...something we all need right NOW! Festus gives us a sense of comfort and happiness that both Deanne and I needed. I'm very "down" right now because we're "told" to stay away from people...family members and friends! Festus is helping fill that void.
When I started this blog, I thought about all the negatives regarding stay at home, social distancing, wear a mask and on & on...I pray we'll all get through these incarcerated times... Thank You Lord...Festus is helping us do just that!
