I'm writing this "Cowpies" on Thanksgiving morning because I don't know if I will be close to a pen and paper tomorrow!?! The day after Thanksgiving, "Black Friday", scares me because I have to go to town. I have to go to the banks, I have to get fuel, I have to get some items for the ranch, I have to pick up some prescriptions...Friday is my only day! Leaving super-early to beat "the crowds" is not an option...they'll already be there because many superstores have been open all night. So, there is only one option, tighten up the "stampede string" on my hat, stick out my chin, start the pickup and prepare to be engulfed in a sea of savage, credit card waving humanity gone wild! My plan on combating the suicidal mass of traffic is to drive offensively instead of on defense. I'm psyching myself up now with a mixture of "MAD MAX" and "Thelma and Louise". I'm exercising my middle finger to beat the "No Signal Lane Changers" to the draw! My lips are already purced into a snarl to shout very descriptive slurs about other drivers family trees. I'm going to wear all black clothing to let these "bargain hunting demons" know they're messing with a bad dude! I will NOT be "cowered" into pulling over to the curb...I will drive on with Bravery and John Wayne and Dale Earnhardt as my soulmates!! We will prevail and leave Twin Falls in one piece...I hope. Dear reader, if there is "dead air" at the beginning of my show Monday, you will know I gave the best I had, but, the multitudes of crazed shoppers beat me into submission and I probably can be found in a shopping cart in Walmart's storage room. Beware my friends, beware, Black Friday is upon us!
