ARIZONA...beautiful desert scenes, the towering Socorro cactus with their arms stretched wide...welcoming you to the sunshine and warmer temps of the Grand Canyon State...ah...not so much! Goober and I arrived in Wickenburg, Arizona on February 1st and put on long underwear every day for the duration of our trip...I've still got em' on! Every day of wind and cold, rain and the threat of rain, THEN....in ARIZONA?....SNOW! Holy earmuffs! I went to Aguilla, a very small town southwest of Wickenburg to rope in a jackpot Sunday, February 3rd...I did not thaw out until the next Tuesday! It's really hard to rope when you're dressed like "Nanook of the North", and your trusty steed, because of the extreme chill...may try to buck you off whenever he gets the whim!! Most of our "time" was spent in the 14 x 20 motel room, where my lovely bride and I contemplated killing each other because of severe "cabin fever"!! I started various "projects" to pass the time, like counting all the little holes in the ceiling tiles. In our room there were a grand total of 18,426 holes, give or take 10% slippage of having my eyes cross! Some of the days provided a "slight" chance of escaping our motel prison and we bundled up and waddled like penguins to the pickup! One of those days included going to Sun City and Surprise to see and visit with some high school classmates that are "snowbirds" from Wisconsin...we had not seen each other in 53 years!! To Mike and Sarah and Chip...thank you so much for giving up an afternoon to visit with an Ole' Cowboy...it meant a lot to me. As we drove home in arctic conditions I had a lot of time to reflect on life, roping and potentially freezing to death. Both Goober and I have already decided that this year was a fluke and if God lets us...we WILL return to Arizona next year.....laden down with much more long underwear!! See ya' on the radio!

Don't forget Dr-History.com! Exciting episodes of the old West!!
Now in 110 countries...110!! And not one of them
have said they're offended!

Our Pledge of Allegiance:
I pledge Allegiance to the flag
of the United States of America
and to the Republic for which it stands,
one nation under God, indivisible,
with Liberty and Justice for all.

Dear Lord: Please Bless and heal this land with your grace and power.
Help us to realize YOU are in charge as you were, as you are now and like
you'll be in the future. Forgive us for "straying off the trail" of what's right
and what's wrong and help us to appreciate what you've blessed us with,
the greatest Country in the world...America!
In Jesus Name.....Amen
