I knew I'd run into them...it was just a matter of time. Last Tuesday Deanne and I had to run to Twin Falls and get some things for the "Ranch". As I was getting out of my truck, a voice said "Well, Zeb Bell, haven't seen you for a long time"! I turned and stared at the man and a feeling of absolute hatred enveloped me! This "man" was one of the Democrats that tried to get my program taken off the air in 2007 – prior to the election of Barack Obama. This man along with other lefty brethren had claimed I was a "Racist" because I did not want Obama as president...side note...I was supporting Condoleeza Rice!! His little group of state Democrats went to all the media and put out stories that "I was a racist!" They went to my advertisers, put stories in newspapers, had TV crews hounding me for questions and answers that would "prove" I WAS A RACIST!....These actions nearly destroyed me and my business and my family. These sick demented Democrats pulled out all the stops to harass and belittle me and it was working...until I met with a very good friend and advertiser on my show. I remember sitting in my pickup with him, telling him I'd about had it with their "blanket" coverage to destroy me...I was going to quit! My dear friend looked me in the eye and said "I thought better of you...I didn't know you were a quitter!!" Ouch. I've never "quit" at anything in my life and his comment really burned through me. My friend said that he and his business would stand by me and I should go on "offense" and call these people out! The next morning I called every one of my sponsors and gave them the option of staying with me...or I'd respectfully cancel their contract...NONE LEFT!! The next Monday on my show, I started a "frontal attack" on these liars and perverts that had spread lies and innuendos about me, my family and the program. I invited them ON the program – NONE responded. I called the State Democratic chairman, and he cowardly had his wife say he couldn't come to the phone! NONE of them had any backbone to address this issue and they looked pathetic when I finished with them.
NOW...back to the man in the parking lot. He was one of the organizers of "hate" against me and honestly, I had made a vow that someday...someday...I would create the need for him to see a dentist!! There I stood, with all the feelings of animosity flooding over me...and I turned my back on him and walked away! Suddenly I felt that I'd treat him as the "nothing" he is and ignore that he's breathing! I think NOW it was the right thing to do...........but.........don't make Vegas odds it will happen that way again.........it's just a matter of time.
