I used to spend a lot of time alone, fishing under the Main Street bridge...those were good days. My mother worked as an office manager for an appliance company in my hometown of Fort Atkinson, Wisconsin. During the summer, I'd ride to town with her, and she'd drop me off at my Grandpa's market which was on Main Street right next to the Main Street bridge. I'd carry my fishin' pole and tackle box and nightcrawler can down a flight of rickety rusty stairs and then spend the whole day by myself fishin' and watchin'. At various times during the day, Grandpa would yell from the bridge "Here ya go...something to munch on!" And he hurl a big brown paper bag down to me filled with a fresh ham sandwich, oranges and maybe a few Snickers candy bars...I had it made. I'd watch and listen to people up on the bridge as they walked back and forth all day long. Many would yell to me "Hey, have you caught anything?"... ah...most of the time...no. All day fishin', all day by myself, doing for myself and enjoying the world around me. We didn't have computers, or smart phones or video games,...didn't need em'. We had something sooo much better, our imagination and peace and solitude. I look back on those days with misty eyes and realize they can never be again. The world has evolved far away from peace and solitude and a "Tom Sawyer-ish" childhood and that's a pitiful shame. My grandsons will never know what it was like...fishin' under the Main Street bridge.

I got a lil' testy on the radio this past week on "Flag Day". I cannot understand how anyone...anyone living in this country, can't realize how lucky and blessed they are. We have everything. All the creature comforts, all the opportunities, the best and safest of food, everything but many can't take 2 minutes to put up or fly our American flag in honor of the greatest country in the world?!? What's wrong with us? And, if someone complains, some people are quick to take down our beloved flag because they don't want to offend that person?!! Crazy...completely CRAZY! Deanne and I put USA flags all over our property and if someone is offended – great!! I'm proud to live in the USA and don't care a whit about hurting some anti-American zealot that has the combined I.Q. of a tuna fish sandwich! I'm not a very complicated person...if you don't like America – LEAVE! Go find something, somewhere that you're idealistic mind perceives is in "Utopia"....go ahead Buckaroo – find it!! When your pea sized jello brain realizes Utopia "ain't" out there – you'll probably come back here with your mangy tail between your legs, beggin' to be let back in to the best country in the world – AMERICA!...and this old' cowboy is not in favor of opening the door for you! Fly our flag America, and be very proud and thankful YOU live here!

Don't forget Dr-History.com! Exciting episodes of the old West!!
Now in 110 countries...110!! And not one of them
have said they're offended!

Our Pledge of Allegiance:
I pledge Allegiance to the flag
of the United States of America
and to the Republic for which it stands,
one nation under God, indivisible,
with Liberty and Justice for all.

Dear Lord: Please Bless and heal this land with your grace and power.
Help us to realize YOU are in charge as you were, as you are now and like
you'll be in the future. Forgive us for "straying off the trail" of what's right
and what's wrong and help us to appreciate what you've blessed us with,
the greatest Country in the world...America!
In Jesus Name.....Amen

Please Read Proverbs Chapter 18 verse 2.
