Being nice, warm and fuzzy was not working...these past three weeks have been a "trial" for me and my patience...and I failed. Bronchitis has put me on the bottom side of normal and then...Deanne gets the same bug. Now, I was raised to "tough out and tough up" and I CAN...but seeing my bride get sick with her other medical worries....patience???..What the "heck" is that!!?? I want her well NOW...not tomorrow or next week...but NOW! I've been hurt and injured all my life and it really "burns my fuse" to see someone I love in an unhealthy state. I am NOT a good "nurse". I have a more direct drill sergeant attitude to health care - "take your pills now, eat all of this now and get some sleep now – you will feel better by this afternoon!!...?? But then...I remembered all of our trials and tribulations are on God's calendar – not ours. Things will work out according to His timetable and for what He wants and expects of us. So I've got to stay positive and attentive to His wishes. Ironically, the same day I was mad at the world for being sick and giving the same to Deanne, I unwrapped one of the many Halls Cough Drops I'd been "eating" and for some reason read the small print on the wrapper. There were tiny slogans like "flex your can do muscle", "get through it!", "tough is your middle name" and "inspire envy" and the best - "conquer today"! God was telling me when we are tested or things are really going over the cliff...if we will just stop – listen and hear what GOD'S saying to us, all the turmoil will go into a holding pattern WE CAN COPE WITH! Today, I'm much better, Deanne is better and yesterday's problems are just memories. One of the other slogans on the wrapper said "Get back in there Champ"...Okay, I will, with God on my side how can a lil' bronchitis stop me?? Look up – here we come!!
