When one of your tires is low...you put air into it and travel on...we...you and I need to do the same. I just read a short story about stopping and "drinking in" all that's around you. Your family, your home, pets and livestock, friends and neighbors, your job and coworkers,... everything, just STOP and let everything come into your mind for...appreciation. Not easy for ME. I was born and raised in an environment of "hurry up, get it done and it better be done right!" My Dad always harped on "Get this done today or you'll be twice as busy tomorrow!" I turned out to be just like my Dad. I don't want a project finished by Monday, I want it done this afternoon! Damn the torpedos – full speed ahead!...proceed at a gallop, CHARGE!!! Last night a dear friend called...his wife had died that afternoon. I was without any words to help or provide solace for my friend, other than "I'm so sorry". When I hung up the phone, I looked at Deanne and thought "My Dear God, how very blessed I am to still be with her and talk to her and hold her hand in church. How happy I am when we are together...(oh to be sure, we have our verbal skirmishes!!), but, we're together in fun and together at work...we are TOGETHER. I'm very frightened to have that change. When I got up this morning, I looked outside at my roping arena and remembered just some of the great times we've had with family and friends. I looked up to the snow capped mountains just a few miles away, and remembered all the great times of being up there, away from TV's, cell phones and "the rat race"...I am so blessed. If you take anything out of my rambling today, take this. Stop, sit down, look up and give thanks for what you have instead of "Tissy Fittin" for what you want! My friend's world is very empty...mine is yet very full...somehow that doesn't seem fair...but that is life here until we reside in Heaven. I'm going to do all I can to be a better friend to my friends and be more thankful for WHO, and WHAT I have! Right now, I actually feel that my tires are "pumped up"and I'm ready to travel on...how about you?
