Cowboys do not get outraged or indignant, or insulted or offended...but we do get really teed off!! You can use all the fancy terminology you want, but this week I was really TEED off! No apologies...none given!! When I heard and then read about California High School in San Ramone barring our National Anthem from pep rallies...I about bit the brim off my Resistol! Student "leaders" decided that our National Anthem is racially insensitive!...hold me down!!! They said and I quote "it was brought to our attention that the National Anthem's third verse is outdated and racially offensive", thus wrote the president of the school's student body. And his witless remarks continued, "We had nothing but good intentions by removing the song so that we could be fully inclusive to our student body"...fully inclusive?? These "snot nosed wet behind the ears pants drooping earrings in the nose tattooed covered punks" have NO CLUE about inclusive! The liberty fighting men at Fort McHenry were "inclusive" when they fought and died side by side to keep OUR flag flying for our NEW nation's freedom! Our nation was split during the Civil War, pitting brother against brother in a bloody hate filled division which finally ended and our great land, again, came to together to be strong and unified. World War I enveloped America and our young men went "over there" to defeat oppression and tyranny. World War II with Germany and Japan, could have very easily "tipped the scales" for an enemy victory on both fronts had it not been for the great American spirit of "Yes, we can" and "Yes, we will". Then Korea and then Vietnam...Vietnam...a war that still clouds my eyes with tears and my mind with sorrow filled memories. So many friends lost, and many so badly scarred by a "war" that was not won...Iraq, Afghanistan, the flag draped coffins keep coming back home...where we pray and play the National Anthem and thank these lifeless soldiers for being "inclusive".......these "kids" in California...they know nothing...NOTHING of what our flag means or what that song, our National Anthem, represents. How dare these "children" say they will ban our National Anthem?!! How dare the "leadership" of the school let this happen?!! How dare the irresponsible "parents" of these brats not take their children over their knee and expose them to a personality adjustment! And then...maybe the same approach to Daddy and Mommy for raising these brats in such a revolting P.C. Environment!...I love America and...I love my National Anthem. Over my career, I've stood proudly at events from the National Finals Rodeo to the Olympics, and tears stream down my cheeks with pride for that song and my Country! But now...now we're letting immature juvenilles decide our National Anthem is outdated and wrong??...God help us...we've lost our minds and our decency! Like I said...I'm really teed off...no apology. None Given!
