In Mark, Chapter 4, Jesus was teaching from a boat to his followers on the lake shore. He told them about the farmer scattering seed across his fields and how some of the seed would grow and prosper, and how much of the seed would not. Today.....where is the "Good Seed"? And.....will it ever prosper and multiply as it should?
Last week in "Cowpies", I was upset about the "gimme gimme" – I want it NOW attitude of a large number of the millennial generation. I was frustrated (teed off!!) that these young, irresponsible punks were blaming me and all the baby boomer generation for the lack of having things and society's betterment HANDED to them!?!? But then, I had a program last week on Wednesday that gave me hope and a feeling that "good will prevail"! I invited 3 young men in their early 30's to be on my talk show and discuss their lives, their careers and their goals. They are hitting it outta' the park!!
Jason Lee has taken over the family furniture business started by his grandfather. He started in the business doing all the menial tasks and learning the business from the ground up. He understands the past so he can relate to the future in meeting people's needs and attaining his goals.
Thomas Peterson owns 2 Denny's Restaurant locations, one in Twin Falls, the other in Burley and believe me.....he knows work ethics. He put all of his money on the line to get started and is still working 18 hour days shuttling between both locations. He wants to grow and possibly obtain another location to fulfill his dreams of what he wants to do with the talent God gave him.
Tanner Stanger grew up in a farming family and when farm prices fell apart and being a farmer was not going to pay the bills, he went back to school to become a dental hygienist! He loves his works and this occupation gives him more time with his children and...more time to be a professional rodeo steer wrestler!!
All 3 of these great young men have goals set for the future to be even better citizens, husbands and fathers! It's really sad that the "loser lollipop snowflakes" can't follow these men around for just 1 day...the world would be a better place!!
Aah spring......the birds singing, the green grass, the warm rays of the sun – roping in my arena on Wednesday and............hurrying in from the SNOW on Thursday!! Holy thermometers, what a change! One minute I'm putting a saddle on my horse – the next, I'm putting layers of clothes on ME! Aah yes....springtime in Idaho, always take your sunscreen with your blizzard parka!!
