Hey old man,...you ole'...., get in your rocker, easy now...you're not a kid anymore... on and on...Ad Nauseam! If you're close to my age, you've had someone say those stupid phrases to you! Yes...I'm 69 years old, yes I've had 17 major surgeries, yes I'm on crutches from polio and a plane crash, yes I've had a heart attack and a mini stroke, yes I've had a knee replacement and a new hip, yes I've had some "6 o'clock news" wrecks with numerous broken bones.....so what?? I set goals to always, after every ordeal, get back up and go back to doing everything I love to do...no matter if it hurts a lil' bit. My father and I unfortunately, were never very close in our relationship...but he did teach me to be tough and I'm grateful for that quality.
There have been some critics of my opinions regarding the millennials in our country...they say I'm too old-school, to mean-spirited, the "poor" kids of today are just "wandering in search of themselves"....barnyard fecal material. I'm not bragging...I'm not...but not one of these snot nosed Wa-Wa gimme gimme frizzy haired "wanderers" would have been tough enough to go through and keep on going like I did and I have. I see Veterans returning from war with no arms or legs...do they quit or cry that life's too tough? No! Most all of them set their jaw and direct their gaze at beating the odds, full speed ahead and driving to become successful at whatever endeavor they chose.
I hate people...yes, I said I hate people that put limitations on others or assume because of age, us "gray hairs" are all washed up! For myself, I love to work, I love to attain goals, I love the physical and mental reward of competition and relish still being able to win and kick someone's ....! These "malignant tumors" that do nothing but denigrate our country or our President have nothing to offer our society but hate and discord...they are worthless!!
So...any of you reading this, if you feel a little rundown, weary and feel like surrendering to "Father Time"...shame on you! Get up, kick the world in the butt, open the front door and yell "I'm not dead yet"! It'll scare the biscuits out of the neighbors but it will make you feel really good!...Don't "Old Man" me....I may step over you!!
