What a difference a week makes. Just eight days ago, I was basking in 70+ sunny weather in Arizona...today...not close! We woke up at 4 AM to – NO POWER. Okey doke. We have lots of flashlights to get dressed AND bottled water to wash with – no problem – surely the power will be restored...soon! Not for 81/2 hours! WOW...it did get a lil' chilly at the "Ranch".

But know what, it all worked out okay and made me appreciate even more the great work, the bone-chilling work of power company employees. These folks brave the elements and the dangers of their job and never bat an eye. I respect them. The same way with our military, our firemen and our police – they go to the problem and do what needs to be done. In today's world of whiners and complainers, an' gripers and "do nothings", our "service" jobs folks are all "John Wayne" types in my book.

Remember the horrific video footage right after the planes hit the towers in New York? Mass confusion, people running in all directions,...mass chaos. But watch closely, and you'll see some of the most brave individuals in the world, our police and firemen, running to the towers to start rescue procedures...and many of these fearless heroic individuals never made it home that night. They went into the "eye of the storm" to save others, while you and I sat on the sidelines, they risked and lost their lives while we watched TV in a comfy chair.

Yes, this job was their chosen career...yes, they were paid for their valiant efforts. But wait. Does your job as an accountant, a farmer, a truck driver or a banker put your life on the line 24-7??? No. My son, Jake, is a fireman for the Boise Fire Department...and I worry about and for him every day. And woe to the individual that would ever criticize firemen and police, EMS professionals and military within my hearing range - - please hope that your ObamaCare is still in force! Tonight, when you say your prayers (and you should!!) thank God for these great Americans serving all of us! Whoa, I'm chilly...what a difference a week makes!

GOD BLESS AMERICA!

Our Pledge of Allegiance:
I pledge Allegiance to the flag
of the United States of America
and to the Republic for which it stands,
one nation under God, indivisible,
with Liberty and Justice for all.

Dear Lord: Please Bless and heal this land with your grace and power.
Help us to realize YOU are in charge as you were, as you are now and like
you'll be in the future. Forgive us for "straying off the trail" of what's right
and what's wrong and help us to appreciate what you've blessed us with,
the greatest Country in the world...America!
In Jesus Name.....Amen

Please Read 1st Corinthians Chapter 12 Verse 5.

The way things were - are the way things ought to be!
