Thoughts on the last 3 weeks...It rained this morning...first bad day since we arrived in Wickenburg, Arizona. Goober and I rolled into town on January 29th and here it is already February 13th, only 3 days of our "Ropin' Vacation" left. Wickenburg is an old mining town with a year round population of 4,000 citizens. However, during the months of December thru April it bulges at the seams to almost 60 thousand, most of which are team ropers.

Outside of Wickenburg on Highway 93 there is a huge set of spurs in the median with the slogan "Welcome to the Team Roping Capital of the World"...it is! From huge Mack trucks pulling 10 horse trailers to Duallys pulling 3 horse trailers to little half ton pickups hooked up to "old" 2 horse trailers...you see them all at Wickenburg. And....all the folks are pretty doggone friendly too!

Our "Ropin' Camp" neighbors came from all over, Kansas City, Missouri, Belton, Texas, Ellensburg, Washington, Colorado, Wisconsin, California, Montana and yes, a pretty good "chunk of change" from Idaho! To say that Wickenburg is the "buffet table" of roping is really the truth. Every day, there are at least seven to fifteen different ropings scheduled at the many arenas all over the area...if you've got the entry fees...they have the steers! From Rancho Rio to Morristown, Forepaws to Queen Creek – they all run fun, fast competitions with lots of money and prizes!...oh how I love this community!...fast forward to...today...we're home!

The temperature and climate shock is hard on my ole fat body...I'm shivering! And very seriously, we are home to the sorrowful and disastrous flooding that's happened all over Cassia, Minidoka, Twin Falls and Jerome Counties. It's heartbreaking to see the devastation and what's lost. Please know that Deanne and I are praying for all that have suffered and know there are better days ahead...We "needed" this vacation for health and personal reasons, but now it's back to work and I'll do my best to help and serve my neighbors – God Bless you all!

GOD BLESS AMERICA!

Our Pledge of Allegiance:
I pledge Allegiance to the flag
of the United States of America
and to the Republic for which it stands,
one nation under God, indivisible,
with Liberty and Justice for all.

Dear Lord: Please Bless and heal this land with your grace and power.
Help us to realize YOU are in charge as you were, as you are now and like
you'll be in the future. Forgive us for "straying off the trail" of what's right
and what's wrong and help us to appreciate what you've blessed us with,
the greatest Country in the world...America!
In Jesus Name.....Amen

Please Read Ephesians Chapter 4 Verse 3.

The way things were - are the way things ought to be!
